Town set for music treat
Dalbeattie will once again host its own music festival when Folktober kicks off on Friday, October 6.
Now in its fourth year, this year’s event has a new and exciting line-up of artists, and a couple of new venues.
With its customary format of concerts, workshops and sessions, it’s set to be bigger and better than ever.
With the financial assistance of Dalbeattie Community Initiative, the main concerts will be held for the first time in Dalbeattie Town Hall, while workshops and sessions will be held in the Birchtree Hotel and the King’s Arms Hotel.
Artists will include local favourites Mary and Doug Carroll, Scots and contemporary song from Sylvia Barnes and Sandy Stanage, Children’s entertainer Artie Trezise and blues with a smile on its face: The Hokum Hotshots.
Full details of the festival can be found at http:// www.dalbeattieacoustic.club/folktober.
