Town goes Mad for it
Mad Hatters galore descended on Kirkcudbright for a fabulous tea party.
And they helped pour more than £1,000 into a charity’s coffers. Supporter Barbara Addison is pictured above at the event, which was held in the Selkirk Arms.
A very important date in Kirkcudbright raised more than £1,000 for a cancer charity.
Irene Mitchell organised a fun Mad Hatter’s Tea Party in the town’s Selkirk Arms last week to benefit Maggie’s Centres.
Around 50 people joined in and as well as enjoying afternoon tea, there was also a raffle and a fashion show before the fantastic hats were auctioned off.
Irene, from Kirkcudbright, said: “It was absolutely fabulous and I’ve had very positive feedback.
“We raised £1,300, which was amazing. I can’t thank everyone enough, it was a super day.”
She added: “It is amazing how everyone comes together to muck in.
“My sister does so much work I’m sure when she sees my name coming up on her phone she wonders what I’m after next!”
Thanks go to the Selkirk Arms and also Lindsay Line and the Corner Gallery, who organised the fashion show.
