Wax-off boost for char­ity

Brave men went through the pain bar­rier to raise thou­sands of pounds for char­ity in Kirkcud­bright.

The Har­bour Beauty Stu­dio or­gan­ised a char­ity wax­ing with no back, leg or armpit hair safe.

Around 35 men took part and so far around £3,500 has been raised for chil­dren’s can­cer char­ity CLIC Sar­gent, with more money to come in over the next few weeks.

A raf­fle and ap­pear­ances from kids’ TV favourites Peppa Pig and Skye from Paw Petrol added to the fun.

Beau­ti­cian An­nette Russell or­gan­ised the event af­ter be­ing in­spired by the story of lit­tle Zara El­liot, who is suf­fer­ing from neu­rob­las­toma.

Three- year- old Zara lives at Jessieville near Gate­house with teacher mum Isla and farmer dad Scott and reg­u­larly has to travel to Lon­don for treat­ment.
