Wet ‘n’ wild at Loch Ken

Galloway Ac­tiv­ity Cen­tre hosted a Wild Swim on Satur­day.

Brave swim­mers took to the cold wa­ter of Loch Ken, tack­ling dis­tances of 1km, 2km and 4km.

Ben Copeland won the 1km event in a time of 15 min­utes nine sec­onds, just one sec­ond ahead of Amy Richard­son, who was first lady home.

Ross Ack­lam was the 2km win­ner in 29 min­utes 27 sec­onds, eight sec­onds clear of Ava Simp­son, who was lead­ing lady. Gel­ston’s Thomas Wright was third.

And in the 4km race Leon Young­man took vic­tory in 55 min­utes nine sec­onds with Mark Py­burn sec­ond. First lady was Molly Hale, who was fourth over­all.

There was also a fun event for kids later in the day

On Fri­day night, seven swim­mers com­peted in two night swim races.

Claire McPhee won the 500m race with Les­ley Higgins win­ning the 1km event.
