Wet ‘n’ wild at Loch Ken
Galloway Activity Centre hosted a Wild Swim on Saturday.
Brave swimmers took to the cold water of Loch Ken, tackling distances of 1km, 2km and 4km.
Ben Copeland won the 1km event in a time of 15 minutes nine seconds, just one second ahead of Amy Richardson, who was first lady home.
Ross Acklam was the 2km winner in 29 minutes 27 seconds, eight seconds clear of Ava Simpson, who was leading lady. Gelston’s Thomas Wright was third.
And in the 4km race Leon Youngman took victory in 55 minutes nine seconds with Mark Pyburn second. First lady was Molly Hale, who was fourth overall.
There was also a fun event for kids later in the day
On Friday night, seven swimmers competed in two night swim races.
Claire McPhee won the 500m race with Lesley Higgins winning the 1km event.
