First round exit
Dalbeattie wheelchair tennis player KeithThom was disappointed to exit the ITF Open Comunidad de Madrid in Spain at the first hurdle.
In fact, Keith suffered the same fate as the other three Brits, going out to strong Spanish opposition in the first round. Playing at midday in 32 degrees Keith found the conditions tough along with playing at 667m above sea level, which influenced the ball characteristics during play.
A few positives were taken from the event with Keith working on a few new things which hopefully will benefit him during the indoor season over the next few months.
Despite the result Keith still moved up to seventh in UK rankings based on tournaments played, his highest position so far in his eight-year career.
Next up is theWelsh Open inWrexham at the end of the month.
