Charity competition held in Scott’s memory
The fourth Scott McNicol Memorial Sea Angling Match will be held on Saturday, October 21.
Sea angling was Scott’s life. As a novice he joined the Kirkcudbright Peever Junior Club and later David Little became his mentor. He became well known on the sea angling circuit and became a top angler, winning gold at three levels for the SFSA Home Nation junior, youth and senior teams.
As captain of the youth team Scott enjoyed coaching the younger anglers and developing the teams. This task can be carried on at least in his memory with proceeds from this memorial match going to the SFSA.
Dumfries and Galloway Blood Bikes will benefit also this year.
The Blood Bikes is a charitable organisation set up by volunteers to deliver essential blood and urgent medical supplies in and out of hours between hospitals and healthcare sites in south west Scotland and beyond.
The match registration is at Monty’s Bar in Castle Douglas from 8am until 9am with fishing from 10am to 4pm. The boundaries are Balcary Bay Hotel to the layby at Creetown.
Weigh in is 4.30pm to 5.30pm with prizegiving at Monty’s from 7pm.
