Char­ity com­pe­ti­tion held in Scott’s mem­ory

The fourth Scott McNi­col Me­mo­rial Sea An­gling Match will be held on Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 21.

Sea an­gling was Scott’s life. As a novice he joined the Kirkcud­bright Peever Ju­nior Club and later David Lit­tle be­came his men­tor. He be­came well known on the sea an­gling cir­cuit and be­came a top an­gler, win­ning gold at three lev­els for the SFSA Home Na­tion ju­nior, youth and se­nior teams.

As cap­tain of the youth team Scott en­joyed coach­ing the younger an­glers and de­vel­op­ing the teams. This task can be car­ried on at least in his mem­ory with pro­ceeds from this me­mo­rial match go­ing to the SFSA.

Dum­fries and Gal­loway Blood Bikes will ben­e­fit also this year.

The Blood Bikes is a char­i­ta­ble or­gan­i­sa­tion set up by vol­un­teers to de­liver es­sen­tial blood and ur­gent med­i­cal sup­plies in and out of hours be­tween hos­pi­tals and health­care sites in south west Scot­land and be­yond.

The match reg­is­tra­tion is at Monty’s Bar in Castle Dou­glas from 8am un­til 9am with fish­ing from 10am to 4pm. The bound­aries are Bal­cary Bay Ho­tel to the layby at Cree­town.

Weigh in is 4.30pm to 5.30pm with prize­giv­ing at Monty’s from 7pm.
