Sexual assault charge denied
A 36-year-old man has been accused in court at Dumfries of pretending to be a taxi driver and then sexually assaulting a woman with intent to rape her.
Marcin Cizla, of Crofthead Farm, Crocketford, pleaded not guilty to committing the offence in Dumfries in June last year.
He was charged with maintaining observations in various streets in the town on a woman who was in a highly intoxicated state.
It is alleged that he followed her in his car before approaching her on foot and inducing her into the car, by pretending he was a taxi driver and offering to transport her home.
The charge claims that in the car he engaged in a sexual activity with her when she lacked the capacity to consent, kissed her, exposed himself and struggled with her and put his hands under her clothing.
Trial was set for December.
