Bidding to rule the kitchen
Two Colvend friends are cooking up a storm on Channel 4.
Annette Need and Rebecca Hodgson have been taking part in cookery show My Kitchen Rules.
And the pals have made it through to finals week, which starts on Monday.
The duo began by making a three course meal for judges Flynn Purnell and food writer Rachel Allen, as well as rival contestants, in their temporary The Galloway Kitchen restaurant.
And Rebecca, who runs Colvend Shop and Tea Room with husband Philip, and Annette of Annette’s Baking in a Box fame, thought they were on to a winner with their mini Scottish breakfasts, Mediterranean inspired lamb and Annette’s award winning banana brownies.
But they only narrowly avoided bottom spot as they scored 65 points.
The next round saw them cooking at the MKR Mansion where they used the mystery ingredient of carabineros prawns, delivered by judge Gizzi Erskine, to make paella.
But it was their lemon polenta cake dessert that really stole the show as it received two 10s and a nine from the judges, helping them to a phenomenal score of 88 out of a possible 100.
They’ll be back on the he show next week and on n Monday they’ll be tasked d with making an outdoor or feast to celebrate the 20th h anniversary of the first st Harry Potter novel.
If they make it through h that, they’ll then be back k on the show on Tuesday, y, with the winner of Friday’s s final crowned champions s and landing £10,000.
