Monday store sale
Wallets Marts Castle Douglas Limited continued their fortnightly store sale on Monday.
Good quality types sold well whilst those showing signs of weather were harder to cash.
Topping the sale at £1205 was a Hereford x bullock from T Robb, Trolane, Dalry.
Top price per kg was 233.6p paid to A Thomson & Co., Shirmers for a pen of Charolais crosses.
Heifers sold to £940 for AA crosses from March & Lobban, Muncraig and to 224p for Limousin crosses from H & N Armstrong, Farhills.
37 OTM cattle were a plainer quality show but easily maintained recent high rates selling to £1070.16 for a Charolais bullock from Castlehill, with cows topping at 136p for a Limousin from Cardoness & Kings Laggan. Overall average was 108.6p per kg. Leading prices
