Wal­lets Marts Cas­tle Dou­glas Lim­ited con­tin­ued their fort­nightly store sale on Mon­day.

Good qual­ity types sold well whilst those show­ing signs of weather were harder to cash.

Top­ping the sale at £1205 was a Here­ford x bul­lock from T Robb, Trolane, Dalry.

Top price per kg was 233.6p paid to A Thom­son & Co., Shirm­ers for a pen of Charo­lais crosses.

Heifers sold to £940 for AA crosses from March & Lob­ban, Mun­craig and to 224p for Li­mousin crosses from H & N Arm­strong, Farhills.

37 OTM cat­tle were a plainer qual­ity show but eas­ily main­tained re­cent high rates sell­ing to £1070.16 for a Charo­lais bul­lock from Castle­hill, with cows top­ping at 136p for a Li­mousin from Car­doness & Kings Lag­gan. Over­all av­er­age was 108.6p per kg. Lead­ing prices

Bulls: £873 Ar­doch; £760 Up­per Hard­land.

Steers: £1070 Castle­hill.
