Ste­wartry res­i­dents will be given the chance to have their say on is­sues such as grass cut­ting and street clean­ing over the next few weeks.

The coun­cil is hold­ing a se­ries of events called Com­mu­nity Con­ver­sa­tions on their Streetscene ser­vices.

The Ste­wartry team was re­cently ac­com­pa­nied for a day by com­mu­ni­ties boss Derek Crichton so he could see what their job in­volves.

He also heard about projects where the team has been sup­port­ing com­mu­nity groups will­ing to look af­ter fa­cil­i­ties, such as a rock­ery in Dal­beat­tie’s Col­lis­ton Park that the Streetscene built and is now be­ing looked af­ter by a lo­cal club.

The first meet­ing will be for the Dee and Glenkens ward and held in Kirkcud­bright High School onTues­day, June 5 at 6.30pm.

OnThurs­day, June 7 the Abbey ward meet­ing will be in Dal­beat­tieTown Hall from 6.30pm.

And the Cas­tle Dou­glas and Crock­et­ford event will be in Springholm Me­mo­rial Hall from 5.30pm onTues­day, June 12.
