Robert Bell, Eastriggs

The Galloway News - - VOICE OF THE PEOPLE -

he and his wife were enjoying a break at their caravan at Kippford.

He said: “I’m retired, I don’t have time to sit and watch telly.

“I would maybe watch the odd games if Scotland had qualified but I wouldn’t make a point of it.

“I don’t mind the odd game of football but I won’t be watching it for a month solid – maybe for five minutes. My two sons like football but I’m more into fishing, gardening and taking photographs.”

Karen Walker and Steve Eltringham, in the area on holiday, are from Leeds, a city with a fine footballing tradition.

With England taking part, surely they’ll be tuning in? Or maybe not..

Karen said: “We don’t really like football, or sport.” Steve explained: “There are better things to do than sit in the house or the pub and watch TV, especially in this weather.

“It’s so over-rated and I’ve no interest in it.”
