Brr-illiant idea by Isobel
A Castle Douglas church elder is getting ready to brave the cold once again.
Isobel Prowse, above, will take part in homeless enterprise Social Bite’s Sleep in the Park in Edinburgh next month.
Isobel and daughter Emily were among thousands who took part last year, raising more than £3,000 as temperatures dipped to -6 in Princes Street Gardens.
On December 8 Isobel, 74, will tackle the challenge again. She said: “The young ladies’ group at Castle Douglas Church invited me to tell them about my experience. I thought ‘You have to do it again.’ My daughter is not coming this year but I’ll find someone to talk to.”
Isobel’s son has loaned her outdoor equipment to ensure she isn’t too cold.
Social Bite is committed to ending homelessness and is working on the Social Bite Village which will provide accommodation for homeless people before helping them into permanent accommodation.
Anyone wanting to sponsor Isobel can do so at Castle Douglas Parish Church each Sunday or by visiting https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/isobelprowse
