Tributes have been paid to a Castle Douglas-based historian following his sudden death.
Alistair Livingston passed away on Saturday following a short illness. He was 60.
Friends on Facebook described him as “a wonderful man who will be much missed in our community” and “a man for whom ‘scholar and gentleman’ might have been invented”.
Alistair recently won Dumfriesshire and Galloway Natural History and Antiquarian Society’s Truckell Prize for his essay “Reassessing the Galloway Levellers”.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday at the Gordon Memorial Hall in Castle Douglas at 1.30pm.
