A Stewartry man has been accused of assaulting a woman and a child.
James McClurg, of Ewart Place, Springholm, is alleged to have behaved in a threatening manner towards the woman by shouting and swearing at her.
And it is claimed he assaulted her by seizing her body, butting her on the head and punching her in Criffel Road, Dumfries, on July 3.
He is also alleged to have assaulted a 14-year-old on the same date.
The 40-year-old has also been charged with having a lock knife, in Burnett Avenue, Dumfries on July 4.
He is further accused of stealing a garden ornament and a pair of trainers from an address in Criffel Avenue, Dumfries, between July 3 and 4 and, on July 4, he is alleged to have resisted two police officers.
McClurg pleaded not guilty to all six charges against him and Sheriff Colm Dempsey set trial for August 27.
He was allowed bail with conditions which included not entering Criffel Road.

Scott Barbour, 37, of Donald Court, pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of diamorphine between December 1, 2019, and February 19, 2020, at Donald Court and other addresses.
He also admitted to being in possession of cannabis. Barbour will face trial on two other charges which he denies.
He is accused of obstructing two police officers by throwing a container of a quantity of controlled substances from a window at Donald Court on February 19 this year.
On the same date Barbour, denied having cannabis resin in his possession.
Trial has been set for August 5 and Barbour was released on bail.
