Wal­lets Marts Cas­tle Dou­glas Lim­ited held their fort­nightly sale of store and OTM Cat­tle on Mon­day.

A poorer show of OTMs met an­other fan­tas­tic trade to av­er­age a mar­vel­lous 144.64ppk and sold to £1293.52 from Messrs Lind­say, Cul­naightrie and to 182ppk from Messrs McKie, Fin­ni­ness.

Young bulls sold to 200ppk from Lochside.

An av­er­age qual­ity show of store cat­tle met strong de­mand and more could def­i­nitely have been sold to ven­dors ad­van­tage.

Wal­lets Marts Cas­tle Dou­glas Ltd had a mar­vel­lous en­try of 1,556, in­clud­ing 249 ewes, on Tues­day.

Trade was on fire to av­er­age a mas­sive 234 ppk SQQ.

Many more could have been sold to an in­creased ring­side of cus­tomers.

A good show of lambs were for­ward and sold to a top of £120 from Messrs Nicholson, Bom­bie and 282.9 ppk from Messrs Wil­son, West Bar­mof­fity, both show­ing Tex­els in good bloom. Mules sold to 220 ppk from Han­nas­ton, Dalry.

A much larger show of ewes were for­ward with a trade fully £10 dearer on the week. Bel­tex ewes sold to £130 from Mid Croft and mule ewes sold to a mas­sive £100 from Pal­mal­let with plenty of mule ewes over £90.
