This year we’ve had a big problem with jackdaws spoiling our apples: they’ve ruined a good crop of russets. This has not been a problem before; does anyone know why they have arrived here? Is there anything we can do to prevent them ruining apples in future?

Is it possible or ethical to gather all the nuclear waste the world produces, load it into a rocket, and blast it into the sun? Could it have any adverse effects?
