We are citizens of the world

The Guardian - Review - - Review -

What a very interesting and thoughtful article by George Monbiot about the politics of kindness and belonging (“It’s time to tell a new story”, 9 September). However, I am concerned these ideas could be distorted into the Citizen of Somewhere v the Citizen of Nowhere (the best explanation of the Brexit vote). I have never felt part of a particular community, but that doesn’t stop me caring about others less fortunate. It is vital that some of the proposed “community” projects involve the national, international or global community.
