The Strathaven Hotel, just outside the town, is holding its Wedding Exhibition on February 11. Staff will be on hand to talk you through what the hotel offers, and show you round its lovely interior and mature gardens – great for the photographs. Looking ahead to April, brides and grooms to be in the Biggar area should head for Shieldhill Castle on the 15th of the month. The castle is hosting a wedding show, which is a great chance to see the venue at its best.

Scotland’s Exclusive Wedding Event is at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Saturday and Sunday, February 17-18. Showcasing thousands of products and services, it will include spectacular catwalk fashion shows featuring everything from bridal wear to flowers and accessories, and feature top international suppliers in addition to British designers. Freebies include a discount voucher book and champagne, and you can also enjoy cake and chocolate tastings while listening to live performances from string quartets and pipers. There’s an opportunity to meet hair and make-up professionals, and take home some trade tips and ideas of what’s the best look for you, plus take advice from herbalists about how to feel good from the inside out.
The Scottish Wedding Show, at the SECC in Glasgow, also takes place on the weekend of February 17-18, returning on September 15-16, and also featuring at Ingliston, in Edinburgh, on March 3 and 4. This is an eagerly-anticipated annual event, and in Edinburgh this year, more than 200 exhibitors are taking part, with free make-up applications by Virgin Cosmetics, and free wine tastings by Tesco on offer. In Glasgow, where more than 290 exhibitors will be tempting you with their products and services, Benefit are doing the make-up sessions, and there is free hair styling advice by Rainbow Room International.
A Wedding Fair and Fashion Show is at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange, again on February 17-18. This will feature more than 50 top suppliers specialising in wedding gowns, vintage cars, entertainment, photography, stationery, flowers and more. You also have the opportunity to meet the Corn Exchange wedding coordinators, sample canapés and soak up the atmosphere.
The Highland Wedding Show is at the Corran Halls in Oban on Sunday, February 25. It promises a fantastic line-up of products and services for the big day.
