Scot­tish tem­po­rary power com­pany Ag­greko yes­ter­day de­clared 2010 prof­its would ex­ceed its pre­vi­ous ex­pec­ta­tions and hiked its div­i­dend by 50%, but the City slashed its stock mar­ket worth by £227.5m on dis­ap­point­ment the news was not even bet­ter. Ag­greko’s shares rose in the im­me­di­ate wake of its an­nounce­ment of an 18.9% rise in un­der­ly­ing first-half prof­its be­fore tax to £127.1m.
