The Herald Business - - News Digest -

THIS month’s inaugural Herald Family Business Awards demonstrated how a strong focus can help a firm thrive even when the economic climate is harsh.

Hotel operator Auchrannie Leisure was a double winner at the black-tie event, run in association with Business Gateway and supported by the Scottish Family Business Association, RBS, Craig Corporate and the Grand Central Hotel. The Arran company triumphed in the rural family business and customer service excellence categories. Another firm to catch the judges’ eye in more than one area was Kelso country clothing specialist A Hume (Outfitters) which picked up fastest-growing family business and the small/medium family business of the year.

In next month’s Business Herald we will bring you a full listing of winners plus pictures from the event, which attracted 200 attendees.
