Raft of fresh ex­per­tise as Brodies adds to part­ner list

PEN­SIONS spe­cial­ist Ali­son Shack­le­ton has joined Brodies LLP as a Part­ner in Glas­gow, bring­ing 15 years’ ex­pe­ri­ence to the Em­ploy­ment, Pen­sions & Ben­e­fits team of the big­gest law firm in Scot­land.

Her ex­per­tise in­cludes ad­vis­ing global and domestic busi­nesses on com­plex pen­sion scheme mat­ters and ad­vis­ing lay and pro­fes­sional in­de­pen­dent trustees on the com­plex­i­ties of pen­sions law.

Ali­son has been listed in the Le­gal 500 and Cham­bers & Part­ners in­de­pen­dent le­gal di­rec­to­ries in re­cent years and her ap­point­ment brings the num­ber of the firm’s em­ploy­ment and pen­sions team in Glas­gow to 12.

Other ap­point­ments in the New Year are Ken MacDon­ald, one of the most re­spected com­mer­cial lit­i­ga­tors in the north-east of Scot­land, who is to join Brodies as a Busi­ness Dis­putes part­ner in its Aberdeen of­fice. Com­mer­cial prop­erty spe­cial­ist Tracey Men­zies MBE is join­ing also as a Part­ner in Aberdeen from Pin­sent Ma­sons.

Con­struc­tion spe­cial­ist Alis­tair McLean, with more than 25 years’ ex­pe­ri­ence, is join­ing from Dun­das & Wil­son. He will be based in Ed­in­burgh.
