The Herald Business - - News Digest -

GLASGOW-BASED Fleet Alliance, an independent fleet management and leasing specialist, is one of a handful of Scottish companies to be shortlisted in the UK National Business Awards 2013, with the awards being presented at a ceremony in London on November 12.

The company is understood to be the only Scottish firm to be a finalist in two categories – the Cronersponsored Employer of the Year and the Customer Focus Award.

The firm has this year already been voted Best Place to Work in Scotland, and was in the Top Five Places to Work in the UK. Headquartered in Glasgow city centre, with offices across the UK, the company was also a recent finalist in the Scottish National Business awards.

Martin Brown, managing director of Fleet Alliance, said: “To be recognised at award ceremonies in Scotland is a great honour. However, to be shortlisted in two categories at these UK Business Awards, which are open to every organisation in the UK, is an achievement in itself.”

Dame Helen Alexander, chair of the National Business Awards judges, added: “The environment has been tough; these are the firms leading the way to growth. There’s a broad spectrum of sectors represented … reflecting the diversity of British business and the vitality of our economy.”
