Muir­head moves to add spe­cial­ists

GLAS­GOW-BASED Muir­head Leather, which ex­ports to 60 coun­tries and is the world’s largest sup­plier of leather to the avi­a­tion in­dus­try, has ap­pointed Kevin Smith as a man­ager for the bus and coach mar­ket.

The com­pany says his role will be “to en­cour­age the sup­ply of Muir­head’s low-car­bon, high­per­for­mance leather to th­ese spe­cific sec­tors”.

Smith has more than 10 years’ ex­pe­ri­ence in au­to­mo­tive and mass-tran­sit in­te­rior trim, full hides, cut parts, sewn cov­ers and com­plete seats.

Prior to join­ing Muir­head he had been with Gram­mer Seat­ing Sys­tems Ltd, where he had var­i­ous roles within the sales team look­ing af­ter both the UK and Europe.

Muir­head sales di­rec­tor Archie Brown­ing said: “Kevin is a great ad­di­tion to the team and his knowl­edge of the bus and coach mar­ket is very im­por­tant for us as we are con­tin­u­ing to em­ploy spe­cial­ists within cer­tain fields to fur­ther en­hance the busi­ness.”
