The best vintage pieces will never date, but can be frustratingly hard to source
The Barras in Glasgow is undergoing a revival, helped by a new event at Barras Art and Design (BAaD) on the last Sunday of each month, the Glasgow Vintage and Flea Market. Visit glasgowvintagefleamarket.com for more details.
1) The benches at A’Challtainn restaurant at BAaD are reminiscent of the seating on the original Glasgow Subway. Art prints (from £25, Love Menu) and vintage nest of bamboo tables (£65, Annata Vintage), both at Glasgow Vintage and Flea Market. 2) Habiib Home has a regular pop-up space at the event and has collected, among other items, a set of four classic Mies van der Rohe MR10 chairs (POA, habiibhome.com). West German vase (£35, Annata Vintage), both at Glasgow Vintage and Flea Market. 3) A bright yellow design icon, the Junghans Auto-Mat ceramic clock sits atop a classic green filing cabinet (£90, habiibhome.com). 4) You cannot beat an original 1940s fan-shaped mirror, a style often emulated but rarely matched (£POA, habiibhome.com).
