A winning mix of locations and styles
With 18 developments Taylor Wimpey West Scotland has one of the best selections of qualifying properties
MI New Home, t he Scottish Government a nd homebuilding i ndustry- supported scheme aimed at increasing the availability of 95% loan to value mortgages, is now available on all new homes up to the value of £250,000 across Taylor Wimpey’s west of Scotland developments.
With 18 locations across the region, Taylor Wimpey West Scotland offers one of the best selections of new homes to qualify under the scheme.
One couple who have used MI New Home to make the step from rented accommodation to buying their first new home are Chris Peacock, a quantity surveyor, and his partner Debby Bruce, a nurse at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley. They had been keeping an eye on the property market while they rented a property in Paisley, and saved up a deposit.
Through Chris’s job they had heard about MI New Home and popped along to Taylor Wimpey when the scheme was announced. “I decided to check out whether it could work for us, while considering some of the other incentives around, such as shared equity. But I liked the simplicity of MI New Home. I wanted to be able to pay a deposit then know what my monthly mortgage payment would be so this was just perfect.
“Getting access to a 95% mortgage through MI New Home has allowed us to move between six and 12 months earlier than we thought we’d be able to. The big difference is that we need just half the level of deposit that we’d originally thought we’d have to find in order to get the type of home we wanted.
“Taylor Wimpey handled everything really smoothly and explained the process every step of the way. We’re so much happier that we decided to buy rather than continuing to rent. We’d much rather be paying into something we own rather than paying rent to someone else.”
Audrey Ross, s ales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, adds: “Buyers will find a superb choice of new homes and locations to choose from that are below the £250,000 threshold at our developments in Ayrshire, Dumbarton, Dumfries, Falkirk, G l a s g o w, Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire and West Lothian.
“For example buyers could take advantage of MI New Home at Frankfield Loch in Stepps where there’s a choice of two, three and four-bedroom homes all under the £250,000 price tag. A number of buyers have used MI New Home successfully and are now happily enjoying life in their new home. ”
