Boyle’s 80s tele­vi­sion dra­mas to be re­leased on BBC Store

A NUM­BER of pre­vi­ously un­re­leased Danny Boyle-di­rected TV dra­mas are to be made avail­able on the BBC Store.

The multi-award win­ning di­rec­tor is be­ing cel­e­brated with the col­lec­tion ahead of the re­lease of his long-awaited se­quel to the Trainspot­ting.

It in­cludes a trilogy of hour­long sto­ries look­ing at the next North­ern Ire­land gen­er­a­tion which were orig­i­nally broad­cast in Septem­ber 1987.

The se­ries in­cludes Scout, which fol­lows a vet­eran Manch­ester United foot­ball scout look­ing for the next Ge­orge Best in Belfast. Also to be re­leased is the Sinead Cu­sack-star­ring Mon­keys, broad­cast in Fe­bru­ary 1989. Cu­sack plays wid­owed Lily, who lives a shel­tered life in Co Done­gal un­til two boys find hor­ri­fy­ing se­cret in her hen house.
