Callous theft of family medals

-

SECOND World War medals, a pearl necklace and a full dress kilt are among a number of items stolen from a home in Aberdeen.

The break-in happened between Wednesday morning and Thursday afternoon in the Seafield area of the city. Numerous items of jewellery worth a four-figure sum were taken, including a heart-shaped green stone necklace with a naval reference and a pearl necklace with a diamante catch.

Detective Sergeant John Snedden said: “These items hold high sentimental value and I can’t begin to imagine the distress this has caused. This is a completely despicable theft where there has been no regard for the emotional and financial impact.”
