But she claimed vi­o­lence erupted when Stacey O’Don­nell, clashed with her. Mrs Miller was giv­ing ev­i­dence at Hamilton Sher­iff Court where Mr Steele, 36, has de­nied be­ing in pos­ses­sion of a knife in Septem­ber last year.

Mrs Miller told the trial a “com­plete rammy” erupted out­side be­fore Mr Steele ar­rived.

A tear­ful Mrs Miller added: “I was in­jured, I had a scar on my face, foot­prints on my face.

“Billy didn’t walk to­wards any­one and the only per­son he spoke to was me. He ab­so­lutely did not have a kitchen knife in his hand and was only there a cou­ple of min­utes.”
