Wo­man hurt in sta­tion roof fall

AN el­derly wo­man has been taken to hospi­tal af­ter be­ing in­jured when a ceil­ing panel came down at a sta­tion.

The pas­sen­ger was in the cor­ri­dor at the Dun­das Street en­trance of Glas­gow’s Queen Street sta­tion when the plas­ter­board panel broke off shortly af­ter 11am yes­ter­day.

She was taken to hospi­tal with mi­nor in­juries. A Sco­tRail spokesman said: “An in­ves­ti­ga­tion is un­der way into what hap­pened.”

The cor­ri­dor in­volved leads to­wards low-level plat­forms. The rail­ways safety reg­u­la­tor has been no­ti­fied.
