Police hunt for swastika yobs

POLICE have launched an investigat­ion after swastikas were daubed on vehicles and a wall in a town in Dumfries-shire.

Officers said the vandalism happened around McConechy’s garage in Lockerbie, some time between 2.30pm on Sunday and 7.30am yesterday.

Constable David Noble said police were carrying out door-to-door inquiries into the incident.

He added: “We appeal to anyone in the community who may have any knowledge as to who is responsibl­e for this disgusting act at this time of remembranc­e and reflection in our community to get in touch with us at Lockerbie on the 101 number.”
