A SCHOOLBOY has been charged with vandalising a war memorial which was sprayed with blue paint ahead of Armistice Day.

Police said a 14-year-old boy would be reported to the Children’s Panel over the incident, at the World War One Memorial in Tullibody. The damage was discovered on Friday morning.

The teenager has also been charged over with three other vandalisms alleged to have taken place overnight in the village.

Chief Superintendent Thom McLoughlin said: “All forms of vandalism are completely unacceptable, however we understand that this was particularly distressing for people given the meaning these memorials hold.”
