Re­search for NSPCC Scot­land in 2008 found a pic­ture of patchy and in­se­cure pro­vi­sion, with ser­vices un­able to meet de­mand and the char­ity found that this re­mains the case today, with many peo­ple suf­fer­ing in si­lence.
