M&S festive ad furore resolved
A FURORE around suggestions the Marks & Spencer Christmas ad features a villain swearing at Paddington bear has been resolved.
The retailer’s festive campaign, which features Paddington mistaking a bearded burglar for Santa, caused uproar after viewers believed they heard the burglar swearing at the bear.
A spokesman for M&S said it was “clear” the words are “thank you, little bear”.
Now the Advertising Standards Authority, which received three complaints about the ad, has ruled on the matter, saying there are no grounds for investigation.
