Men held over 1993 death

TWO men have been ar­rested in con­nec­tion with the death of an Ayr­shire restau­ra­teur al­most 25 years ago.

An­sar Shah, 38, died af­ter al­legedly be­ing at­tacked out­side Ar­maan Brasserie in Ayr.

Po­lice Scot­land’s homi­cide and gov­er­nance re­view team ar­rested a 53-year-old man in London and a 59-year-old man in Ayr­shire in con­nec­tion with the death on Oc­to­ber 4, 1993.

It fol­lows the ap­pear­ance of 51-year-old Jag­tar Singh at Glas­gow High Court on Tues­day in con­nec­tion with his death.

Mr Singh made no plea or dec­la­ra­tion and will ap­pear again for a hear­ing at a later date.

Po­lice said in­quiries are con­tin­u­ing into the death of Mr Shah.
