Man rescued from marina
A MAN has been taken to hospital after falling into a marina.
The man fell into the water from the pontoons at Oban Marina on the island of Kerrera.
He managed to clamber out on to a rigid inflatable boat where he was spotted by someone who raised the alarm at around 11.30pm.
A local doctor who happened to be close by treated the man who was said to be in a “very cold and confused state”.
The doctor stayed with the man until the Oban RNLI lifeboat, which was sent to the scene by coastguards, arrived and took the 74-year-old man and the doctor to Oban harbour.
He was then transferred to an ambulance and taken to hospital, coastguards said.
