Soldiers held for airport fight
TWO soldiers have appeared in court in Cape Verde after being arrested for brawling.
The men were part of a group of troops bound for the Falkland Islands, but found themselves off the north-west coast of Africa when their plane developed a fault.
It is understood they had been drinking before the incident happened, and were arrested by police.
Those involved in the trouble now face disciplinary action.
An Army spokesman said: “We can confirm two soldiers have appeared in court in Cape Verde and have been fined.
“Anyone found to have fallen short of the Army’s high standards will be dealt with administratively and may face sanctions up to and including dismissal.”
