MPS consider cladding ban
UK ministers are to consider banning flammable cladding for all high-rise buildings after a furious backlash over a review into the Grenfell Tower inferno.
Consultations will be launched into outlawing the material and the studies used to assess it, James Brokenshire, UK Housing Secretary, announced.
It follows a wave of criticism after Dame Judith Hackitt released her report for reform of building regulations after the June 14 disaster left 71 dead. It failed to recommend either measure.
71 people were killed in the Grenfell blaze.
