Corpse in park is iden­ti­fied

A DE­CAP­I­TATED corpse found in a park has been re­vealed to be the body of a Lithuanian man who dis­ap­peared a year ago.

The 48-year-old was iden­ti­fied fol­low­ing a se­ries of foren­sic tests that sought to iden­tify the de­com­posed re­mains age and gen­der.

A teenager raised the alarm af­ter mak­ing the dis­cov­ery in Hog­a­rth Park, Carn­tyre, Glas­gow, on June 11.

It is un­der­stood the man went miss­ing last Au­gust. Po­lice say they do not be­lieve there are any sus­pi­cious cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing his death.

A po­lice spokes­woman said: “The body can now be iden­ti­fied as a 48-yearold Lithuanian na­tional.”
