All aboard for the boat show
THE first ever Clipper round-the-world race yacht proved a popular attraction at Scotland’s Boatshow 2018 which opened yesterday.
Liza Linton, left, and Nikki Stewart from Royal Yachting Association Scotland were among those taking the chance to have a closer view of the 60-foot Taeping now owned by Ocean Sailing Scotland.
Thousands are expected to head to Kip Marina, Inverkip this October from all over the UK for the free-admission show. Running until October 14, visitors can expect an amazing array of new and pre-owned boats for sale – from a £500 dinghy to a £1 million powerboat.
Now in its 32nd year, it was expected to be the biggest yet with a new layout, expanded exhibition areas. Among the additions for the 2018 show are 13ft-high models, known as maquettes, of the world-famous Kelpies.
