Cheap thrills

The Herald - - OPINION -

YOUR cartoonist Steven Camley cleverly lampoons the staid constituents of Giffnock moving on following the opening of Lidl (November 8). In fact, quite the reverse. Pedestrian and vehicular traffic to the new “people’s pantry” was in full flow from dawn to dusk. No sign of pretentious superiority. A bargain is a bargain especially when quality and friendly service also applies.

Not just my opinion but confirmed by the footfall of laden but satisfied customers exiting the store.

The idyll of Lidl has landed.

Allan C Steele,

22 Forres Avenue, Giffnock.
