Martin’s kept busy as Rep­ton eye prize

FOR­MER Great Bri­tain in­ter­na­tional Martin Jones will have plenty to think about in the next few weeks.

As hockey di­rec­tor at Rep­ton School, he will be pre­par­ing his charges in the build- up to their knock­out semi- fi­nal against Kingston GS in the boys Un­der 18 Na­tional Cup, to be played at Lee Val­ley on April 26.

In ad­di­tion, Rep­ton will be field­ing teams in the fi­nals tour­na­ment at Un­der 16 and Un­der 14 level at Lee Val­ley that week. This means that the Der­byshire school are aim­ing to reach five out­door fi­nals af­ter the suc­cess of the girls’ sec­tion, who took the na­tional ti­tle at Un­der 18 and reached the fi­nal of the Un­der 16s.

U16s qual­i­fiers – Rep­ton, Bed­ford, Al­trin­cham GS, Reed’s, Trent, Whit­gift, Dean Close, Fel­sted. U14s qual­i­fiers – Cran­leigh, Dean Close, Gre­sham’s, Rep­ton, Whit­gift, Rat­cliffe, Queen El­iz­a­beth GS Wake­field, Fel­sted.
