Mersey plans inch ahead
HAROLD HOUSE, the Liverpool Jewish Youth and Community Centre, is to relocate to the King David School campus, writes Lennie Isaacs.
At a meeting between the executive committee of Harold House and representatives of the King David High School, chaired by Alan Tinger, chairman of the Communal Buildings Group, it was agreed that Harold House would relocate to the KD campus as part of the Building Schools for the Future programme. This agreement was ratified at a Harold House management committee meeting last week.
Last November, Mr Beilin, chairman of Harold House, had said that he wanted to pull out of the KD redevelopment, as Harold House could not wait until the end of 2009, when the project is due to be completed.
Alan Tinger, chairman of the Communal Buildings Group, said: “I am pleased that Harold House has decided to rejoin the campus project.”
Mr Beilin said: “Relocating Harold House to the KD campus is sensible considering our responsibilities for the welfare of the children of our community.”
