COM­MIS­SION FOR LOOTED ART The Lon­don-based Com­mis­sion for Looted Art in Europe is the sole ex­pert rep­re­sen­ta­tive body ded­i­cated to this is­sue. It is a non­profit or­gan­i­sa­tion which ne­go­ti­ates pol­icy and pro­ce­dure across Europe and helps fam­i­lies iden­tify, lo­cate and re­cover their looted art­works. Since 1999, its work has led to the re­cov­ery by fam­i­lies of over 600 works. It is jointly chaired by Anne Web­ber and David Lewis. Set up as an ini­tia­tive of the Com­mis­sion for Looted Art in Europe to ful­fil Wash­ing­ton Prin­ci­ple VI, it mon­i­tors the im­ple­men­ta­tion of the Wash­ing­ton Prin­ci­ples world­wide with Stu­art Eizen­stat as its Pres­i­dent. ww.lootedart.com
