THREE PROMINENT Jews in the creative arts — actress Miriam Margolyes, writer and film-maker Mike Leigh, and writer and actor Stephen Fry — are to spearhead a new campaign to be launched next week in Westminster which aims to present the Palestinian viewpoint in the year of the 40th anniversary of the Six Day War.

Calling itself the ENOUGH! coalition, the campaign’s sponsors include the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, the Muslim Public Affairs Committee, Jews for Justice for Palestinians and the Jewish Socialists’ Group.

Ms Margolyes, interviewed in this week’s JC, said she felt “passionately” about the issue. She said: “Unless Arabs see us as people, they will go on killing us — and I can’t blame them for that. I do not know what else they can do, what other way they can achieve any sort of political viability as a nation.”
