ARAB NOM­I­NATED FOR YAD VASHEM HON­OUR

AN ARAB has been nom­i­nated as a can­di­date for a Righ­teous Gen­tile award from the Yad Vashem Holo­caust Mu­seum for the first time. Tu­nisian Khaled Abd alWa­hab re­port­edly saved the lives of 25 Jews by hid­ing them on his farm un­til the end of the Ger­man oc­cu­pa­tion of his coun­try. Mr Abd al-Wa­hab, who died in 1997, was nom­i­nated by Dr Robert Sat­loff, a scholar of Arab and Mus­lim pol­i­tics from the United States.
