RABBI HERSCHEL Rader has announced that he is to leave the pulpit of Woodside Park Synagogue in 2008.

The popular Ilford-born Lubavitcher will have served the North-West London community for 14 years when he departs to pursue other challenges.

Simon Sterling, the chairman of Woodside Park, commented: “Rabbi Rader has made an incredible contribution to our community and we have been most fortunate to have been able to benefit from his guidance over the last 13 years. Despite his departure, our community will go from strength to strength as a result of his direction.

“Rabbi Rader will be greatly missed by the whole community and we wish him well in his future endeavours,” added Mr Sterling.

Rabbi Rader commented: “I feel immensely privileged to have been part of the Woodside Park community for so many years. I have received incredible support from our members and whilst I am looking forward to new challenges, I will miss the vibrant atmosphere and valuable friendships I have forged over the last 13 years.”
