Kenny Solomons dances his way from Southend to the States

The Jewish Chronicle - - PEOPLE -

EAT YOUR heart out, Patrick Swayze. There is a new dancing heartthrob in town, and he is having the time of his life.

Twenty-one-year-old Kenny Solomons is currently starring in Living TV’s weekly dance reality show Dirty Dancing: The Time of Your Life. The 10-week programme follows 16 dancers as they perform in the Mountain Lake Resort, Virginia, where the cult classic Dirty Dancing was filmed. Each week, the couples strive to avoid eviction by the judges: television and theatre star Jennifer Ellison, choreographer Sean Cheesman, and choreograper-cum-actress Miranda Garrison. The triumphant duo wins a year-long contract with top Los Angeles-based dance agency Bloc.

Mr Solomons tells People: “Doing the show is really fun and different to anything I have done before. It is taking things in a new direction for me.”

A former pupil of the Thorpe Hall School in Southend-on-Sea, Mr Solomons — who was one of several hundred hopefuls selected to compete in the programme — works for modelling agency Oxygen Model Management in Central London, and has recently finished filming television commercials for Terry’s Chocolate Orange and Sainsbury’s.

He has also danced in Bollywood films and performs, together with his two sisters Natalie and Ami Solomons, at Jewish Care homes across the country.

He says: “I would do anything and everything just to have the experience. I am up for it all, and would never say no to something if asked.” Any requests? Dirty Dancing: The Time of Your Life can be seen on Wednesdays at 9pm on Living TV
