Easy way to buy online

The Jewish Chronicle - - MOTORING -

FINDING THE best deal when buying a new car can be both timeconsuming and confusing. There are so many options these days. But now, a new online service means it’s the dealers who battle against each other — while the buyer sits back and waits for the list price to tumble. Motorati.co.uk promises the best possible new car deals, thanks to its virtual dealer bidding network.

Using the site is simple: prospective buyers enter their desired car specification and contact details and within four days they are emailed with the best prices UK dealerships can offer. Once the motorist has chosen a deal, he or she puts down a deposit, the sale is agreed between buyer and dealer and the new car is delivered to the buyer.

The service is free for motorists. A deposit of £200 is required, but is refunded at point of purchase. Optional text-notifications are available at 20p a text. Normally there will be up to five texts over four days of dealer bidding.

Motorati is the brainchild of luxury car dealer Clive Sutton, owner of Clive Sutton Premier Marques, one of London’s leading independent car dealerships. He says: “Motorists are fed up with having to trawl through dozens of websites and showrooms to find the best new car deal — and are often left with a lingering doubt they could have done better. By using Motorati, it’s the customer who is in control — and not the dealer.”

Recent Motorati customer savings included a Lexus GS300 Saloon SE Auto at £4,150 below the £37,650 list price; Ford Focus Estate 1.6 TCDI LX, saving £2,650 on a £16,645 list price and Peugeot 407 Saloon 2.0 HDI, saving £3,587 on a £18,805 list price .

More than 300 dealerships across the UK have signed up to the service and many more are expected to join. Most leading brands are covered, including Alfa Romeo, Audi, Ford, Peugeot, Volkswagen and Vauxhall.
