FORMER PRIME Minister Tony Blair is expected to address the Herzliya Conference in January, a major forum for Israeli decision-makers.

Mr Blair, the international quartet’s special envoy to the Middle East, has been invited by the conference organisers.

According to the founder and chair- man of the Herzliya Conference, Professor Uzi Arad, “there is a good chance that he will be able to come”.

Now in its eighth year, the Herzliya Conference was where Ariel Sharon made some of his central declarations on concessions to the Palestinians.

Meanwhile, reports in Britain suggest that Mr Blair’s role as Middle East envoy is costing UK taxpayers £400,000.
