AU­THOR IRA Levin, who wrote a string of best­selling thrillers in­clud­ing Rose­mary’s Baby, The Step­ford Wives and A Kiss Be­fore Dy­ing, died this week aged 78 at his Man­hat­tan home. One novel, The Boys From Brazil, en­vis­aged Josef Men­gele pro­duc­ing clones of Adolf Hitler.
